The Ness City Public Library Staff and Board were elated with the wonderful turn-out of over 40 people for Joanne Emerck and Robert Weirman’s program on April 9th at the United Methodist Church. Joanne and Robert shared their trip to the 75th Anniversary of the Pearl Harbor Bombing this past December in Hawaii.
Joanne and Robert took us on a virtual tour of Pearl Harbor as it was in December of 1941 prior to the attack and then shared comparison picture of how if looks today. We visited many of the buildings, the inside of a submarine and met through picture some of the survivor who were stationed there during the attack. Joanne was invited to speak at one of the banquets during this historical anniversary.
Thank you Robert and Joanne for sharing your experience with us. Thanks to the United Methodist Church for the use of Fellowship Hall, and to Tammy Jordan, Diane Bell, Deb Stenzel, Laurie Dinges and Jean Schlegel for furnishing cookies.
