‘Around the World Stories’ classes read and learned about China this week at story time.
Do you know what a dragon looks like? That was the question, as we traveled to China for our third week of Spring Story Time at the Ness City Public Library. In the story “Everyone Knows What a Dragon Looks Like”, by Jay Williams; everyone had a different idea of what they thought a dragon looked like. But it wasn’t until a dragon helped to save their city that the people got to really see what one looks like. The dragon was very different from what anyone had been thinking.
After the story we created our own dragons of foam, ribbons, and bells. We also got to read our fortune from a fortune cookie, received gummy Chinese Stars to enjoy as a snack at home, and got another stamp put in our passports. Now on to our next destination!
